Falken Tires roars into Kuwait for kick off of Red Bull Car Park Drift 2017

The Red Bull Car Park Drift 2017 season got underway with a thrilling contest at the Sirbb Circuit in Kuwait on May 5th. Falken Tires, supporting the high octane tournament once again, was on hand to provide motorsports fans with some excitement away from the track.

The Kuwait national final, which was organised by Basel Salem Al-Sabah Motorsport Club and held under the sponsorship of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, saw 16 talented drivers battling it out to be crowned Kuwait’s King of Drift.

With 400 possible points up for grabs from judges, drifters not only had to demonstrate their skill manoeuvring around the challenging track, but were also rewarded for the roar of their engines, the smoke they produced, their drifting in the ‘box’, and the design and look of their vehicles. As well as earning points, drivers could have them deducted for losing control of their car, going in the wrong direction or hitting a barrier.

After a thrilling and tightly fought contest, Ali Makhseed emerged triumphant with a point total of 375. Makhseed, who demonstrated his drifting talent in a Toyota GT 86, clinched the title for a second time, beating out Fahad Al Jadei (360 points) and Abdullah Al Jadi (317 points) in second and third respectively.

Fans packed the stands in their thousands to soak up the pulsating action on the track, and one lucky Falken Tires follower got to experience the adrenaline rush of competing on it, after winning a ride with drift legend Abdo Feghali. Two additional winners of our Facebook competition received couple’s grandstand passes to the event.

Our booth was a hub of activity throughout the contest, visitors were gifted goodies bags filled with great Falken Tires branded items including caps, towels, stickers and keychains. Keeping the winning feeling alive, we also gave out 2,000 scratch & win coupons that offered discounts of up to 70% off purchases of Falken Tires and free wheel services.
