Falken Tires gets pulses racing at Red Bull Car Park Drift in Oman

Nov 02, 2017

Oman’s leading drifters had over 5,000 spectators enthralled as they demonstrated their superb skills behind the wheel, pulling off all kinds of tricky manoeuvres during the Red Bull Car Park Drift event on October 27, 2017. Falken Tires also kept the action pulsing, entertaining motor enthusiasts at its stand throughout the event.

Fans flocked to the Oman Automobile Association (OAA) track in Muscat to see the country’s finest 16 drifters battle it out to be crowned the nation’s King of Drift. It was a thrilling contest, but Rafaat Al Yayhai in his Nissan Sylvia was unbeatable on the night, clinching the top spot in each of the three rounds, and knocking 2016’s defending champion Haitham Al Hadidi into second position.

Al Yayhai impressed the judges, Jean-Pierre Nasrallah, Chris Hodgson, Walid Amir and Wadhah Abdullah, with his mastery over the testing track and racked up a winning score of 380 points. Al Hadidi was a close runner up with a score of 369, while third place was awarded to His Highness Saeed Dhu-Alkufl Bin Said Fatik Al Said with 331 points.

Always keen to share a slice of the action with our followers, we gave four winners of our Facebook competition two grandstand passes each, while one follower received an even more exciting prize, winning the ride of lifetime with drift legend Abdo Feghali. Not only did the lucky guy get to enjoy an adrenaline-pumping co-pilot ride, but he got two VIP tickets to the event as well.

Motorsports fans also received a warm reception at the Falken booth, where we were handing out goodie bags filled with an array of fabulous branded items.

The 2017 final is just weeks away now, which means when the action resumes in Casablanca, Morocco on November 4th, the pace will undoubtedly have stepped up a gear. Falken will be there to enjoy wheel-spinning fun, in fact, the coordinates are already in our GPS and our engine is roaring and ready to go. See you in Morocco!
