Falken Tires revs up the crowd at Red Bull Car Park Drift in Qatar

Qatar’s drifters went totally full throttle in the battle to be crowned the nation’s King of Drift at the Red Bull Car Park Drift event on November 10, 2017. Dallah Parking on the Doha Corniche was packed with over 10,000 fans and Falken Tires was in the thick of the action throughout the day, keeping the excitement alive at its stand.

The event, held under the support and supervision of Qatar Motor and Motorcycles Federation (QMMF), had fans on the edge of their seats from the start. Pre-qualifiers saw 20 drifters take on the challenging course and sending plumes of smoke spiralling into the sky as they twisted and turned their cars around track.

The field might have been narrowed down to 14 drifters for the finals, but the action stepped up a gear or two in response. And it was Abdulrahman Fakhroo in his Nissan Silvia who proved to have winning edge, clinching the title for the second consecutive year with a total of 243 points.

Fakhroo impressed the judges made up driving legends and experts: Adel Abdullah, Mohamed Abu Issa, Jean Pierre Nasrallah and Chafic Saade, and saw off close competition from Ahmad Abu Irshaid and Mohammed Al Khayat. Irshaid took second place with 230 points, closely followed by Al Khayat in third with 227 points.

Drift legend Abdo Feghali gave the cheering crowd a masterclass of his own, taking a spin around the track to showcase his driving prowess, before taking one lucky Falken Tires follower on an unforgettable co-pilot ride. The lucky guy had entered a competition on our Facebook page and won both the thrilling ride and two VIP passes to the event.

Motoring enthusiasts also made tracks to the Falken booth where we handed out hundreds of Falken goodie bags packed with brilliant branded items. We also gave out 2,000 vouchers, entitling users to an exclusive ‘Buy 2 Falken tires & Get 2 Free’ offer.
